Our Journey Through the Tides

Our voyage began in the 1950s with John Muhling (Senior), who launched "John Muhling Marine Pty Ltd" from Stirling Highway in Claremont. Starting with a Seagull dealership, John's dedication quickly made waves.

In 1960, we proudly became an Evinrude Dealer, opening our doors to a wider range of reliable Evinrude and Johnson products. John steered the business to become a highly reputable name — a true testament to his vision and hard work. As the late 1980sstrong> approached, John began to step back, entrusting the helm to his son, Stephen Muhling.

Stephen, with his keen understanding of the marine world, navigated the company to its new, purpose-built premises in Osborne Park. This move allowed us to service and fit larger outboards, expanding our capabilities and growing our loyal clientele.

The year 2000 brought a new chapter as Stephen and his family moved to Queensland, and the business changed hands. For seven years, the new owner continued the Muhling Marine legacy.

Then, in August 2007, the family returned to the forefront. James Muhling, Stephen's cousin — who had previously worked alongside Stephen in both Claremont and Osborne Park — stepped in. It was a natural transition for James to combine his marine repair business from Wangara with the well-equipped Osborne Park premises, solidifying our new identity as Muhling Marine.

For another eleven years, James fostered significant growth, expanding our clientele and services until our building was literally ‘busting at the seams’! The demand was so great that we temporarily spread into a neighbouring building.

The winds of opportunity then brought an exciting addition to our outboard stable: the Suzuki brand. With its outstanding reputation for power and reliability, Suzuki perfectly complemented our existing offerings, providing even more excellent choices for our customers today.

Our continuous growth led us to our new and current home at 4 Burgay Court, Osborne Park. This impressive facility is three times the size of our previous location, offering ample space and capacity for boats up to 32 feet, all under cover.
